About me
I am Tauris G.
An hour of learning every day,
for more than ten years.
A quiet hour
For more than ten years, I have set aside an hour a day to learn.
It started simply because the office was close to home, and getting there early meant I could have breakfast. Then I found that this hour was very quiet.
At first I learned Python, and how to use software such as Notion and Figma; later, German. What I learn keeps changing. The learning has never stopped.

Beneath the calm
I don't think I make a very good first impression.
On the surface the water is calm; underneath there is often a storm. Once you know me, you may find that I sometimes say startling things.
This site gives me another way to introduce myself. You can read what I write, look at what I make, and slowly form your own picture.

One, and two
A long solitude has slowly accustomed me to a way of living that does not depend on connections with others. It runs against the weight Chinese society puts on guanxi, on relationships.
I have found the person who fits me perfectly. We live within each other's boundaries, and the energy we have together is more than the simple sum of two people.
I am also glad to let others read me, try to understand me, have some limited contact with me and share the things we both like. Only, please do not break through my boundaries.

I admire persistent people
I like people who stay with something for a long time, never letting go of it, and keep exploring.
If it happens to be something I like too, all the better.
I make products and designs, and turn some ideas into code. The work and the writing here will gradually record what I have explored. If something here makes you want to spend time on it as well, we may have something to talk about.

Write to me
If you, too, have been exploring something for a long time, you are welcome to write. You could start with a concrete question, a piece of work, or something you keep at.
I am used to slow conversation, so a reply may take a little while.
